Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. Service Description
ReadMe DNA provides personalized genetic reports by matching genotype data you upload against a curated database of published scientific research. Reports are generated through deterministic lookup—no artificial intelligence, machine learning, or algorithmic prediction is used at runtime. By using this service you agree to the terms below.
2. Not Medical Advice—Informational Use Only
ReadMe DNA is not a medical deviceand has not been evaluated or cleared by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) or any other regulatory body. The reports, findings, recommendations, and all other content provided by ReadMe DNA are for informational and educational purposes only and do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Genetic variants describe statistical tendencies and population-level risk factors—they are not certainties and do not predict individual outcomes. Many health outcomes depend on environmental, lifestyle, and additional genetic factors not captured by this report.
Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making any changes to your diet, supplementation, medication, or health regimen. Do not start, stop, or change any treatment based solely on information from ReadMe DNA.
3. Assumption of Risk & User Responsibility
By using ReadMe DNA you acknowledge and agree that:
- You are voluntarily choosing to view informational content about your genetic data.
- You understand that genetic research is evolving and interpretations may change as new studies are published.
- You will not rely on ReadMe DNA reports as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- You accept sole responsibility for any decisions you make based on the information provided.
- The accuracy of your report depends on the quality and completeness of the raw data file you upload; ReadMe DNA is not responsible for errors originating from your DNA testing provider.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ReadMe DNA, its owners, operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages—including but not limited to damages for personal injury, lost profits, or loss of data—arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the service or any content provided by the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
In no event shall the total aggregate liability of ReadMe DNA exceed the amount you paid for the service (currently $24.99).
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
ReadMe DNA does not warrant that: (a) the service will be uninterrupted or error-free; (b) the results obtained from the service will be accurate or reliable; or (c) any particular health outcome will or will not occur based on your genetic data.
6. Accuracy & Scientific Limitations
All findings are based on peer-reviewed research published in scientific journals and cited with PubMed references. However:
- Genetic research is an active field; interpretations may be revised as new evidence emerges.
- Variant coverage varies by DNA testing provider and chip version. Not all variants in our database will be present in every user's raw data file.
- Population frequency data is derived from reference databases (gnomAD, 1000 Genomes) and may not reflect all ancestral populations equally.
- Combination effects between genes are included where well-studied but cannot capture all possible gene-gene or gene-environment interactions.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ReadMe DNA and its owners, operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the service; (b) your violation of these terms; or (c) any action you take based on information provided by the service.
8. Payments & Refunds
Premium report access is a one-time purchase of $24.99 processed securely through Stripe. ReadMe DNA never sees or stores your payment card details. Refund requests may be submitted within 30 days of purchase by contacting support.
9. Intellectual Property
All content, design, and code comprising ReadMe DNA are the property of ReadMe DNA and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Your generated report is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use. You may share your report with your healthcare provider.
10. Governing Law
